Electric Yacht Charter in Mallorca: A Silent Guide to the Coves
Mallorca is a coastline of protected coves, clear water and quiet mornings. Electric propulsion is the way to experience it as it was meant to be: without the noise, fumes or wake of a traditional charter yacht.

Electric, solar and eco yacht rental in Mallorca and the Balearic Islands
Whether you're searching for an electric yacht charter in Mallorca, a solar yacht rental, an eco-friendly boat charter, a sustainable yacht in the Balearic Islands or simply an electric llaüt in Mallorca, the request is the same: a boat that moves without noise, fumes or wake. SAMAR Charter is built around that idea — a solar-electric llaüt with 100% electric propulsion.
The home port is Palma de Mallorca, but the operating range covers the whole Balearic Islands: Mallorca's south and south-east coast, the Cabrera National Park, and — with advance planning — routes towards Ibiza, Formentera and Menorca. Silent, zero-emission cruising is the honest way to visit protected coves and Posidonia meadows across the archipelago.
Why choose an electric yacht charter in Mallorca
A conventional yacht charter in Mallorca means diesel engines, vibration and a constant low hum that follows you into every anchorage. A solar-electric yacht removes all of it. The propulsion is silent, the deck doesn't vibrate, and there are no exhaust fumes drifting across the swim platform when you drop anchor in Cala Varques or Es Caló des Moro.
For guests, that means conversations at normal volume, sleep without a generator cycling on and off, and a genuine connection to the sound of the sea. For the coastline, it means no emissions in the water and no fuel spill risk in protected marine areas — a genuine reason electric charter is quickly becoming the preferred option for guests who care about how they travel, not only where.
The Balearic Islands have some of the strictest anchoring and emissions regulations in the Mediterranean, particularly around Posidonia seagrass meadows. A silent, zero-emission yacht is the most respectful way to spend a day on this coast — and increasingly, the only way certain protected areas can be visited without compromise.
Where to go: Mallorca's protected coves
From Puerto de Palma, an electric yacht opens up a full day of cruising along the south and south-east coast. A typical day on board might include:
- Cala Blava & El Toro — clear, sheltered water within an easy silent cruise from Palma, ideal for a mid-morning swim.
- Cabrera Archipelago National Park — a protected reserve where low-impact, low-noise navigation is exactly the right way to arrive.
- Es Trenc & Es Caragol — long, shallow beaches on the south coast that reward a slow, quiet approach.
- Cala Varques & Cala Magraner — small east-coast coves where a silent yacht feels less like an intrusion and more like a guest.
- Sa Dragonera — a natural park off the western tip of the island, home to seabird colonies and dramatic cliffs best enjoyed without engine noise.

A sample day on board
Guests usually board around 10:00 at Puerto de Palma. From there we head south in silence, reaching the first anchorage in under an hour. Swim, breakfast, paddleboard; then a slow coastal cruise to a second cove for lunch on board. The afternoon is unhurried — sunbathing, snorkelling, another swim — before a golden-hour return to Palma with the coastline lit sideways by the sun. No fuel stops. No noise. Just the sea.

The SAMAR difference

The SAMAR yacht is a 15.9 m luxury solar yacht with 100% electric propulsion and capacity for up to 12 guests. Solar panels top up the batteries continuously while you're on board, so a full day of typical cruising and anchoring runs on battery alone. A back-up generator extends the range up to 800 nautical miles when itineraries call for longer passages.
Every charter includes a professional skipper. On request we tailor the day with private chef, signature catering, sommelier, photography or bespoke celebrations — so the experience fits your group, not a template. You can see the full specification and interior of the boat on our SAMAR 50 fleet page, or read more about our philosophy of silent luxury charter.
Best time of year for an electric charter in Mallorca
The charter season on Mallorca runs from April through October, and each month has a different character. May and June bring long days, mild water and coves that are still uncrowded — ideal for guests who want the sea largely to themselves. July and August are the peak of summer: warm nights, aperitivo on deck at sunset, and the full social calendar of Palma at your back. September and early October are, for many returning guests, the quiet favourite — warm water, softer light, and space to anchor almost anywhere on the south coast.
Because propulsion is electric, the boat performs identically in any month — no seasonal fuel constraints, no noisy competition with other yachts at anchor. We recommend booking peak-season dates at least six to eight weeks ahead.
Sustainability, respected in practice

Sustainability on the water is often a marketing line. On an electric yacht it is an operational reality. Zero direct emissions during navigation means no hydrocarbons released into the coves you swim in. Silent propulsion means marine wildlife — dolphins, tuna, seabirds — is not driven away by engine noise. Solar recharging means the energy that moves the boat is, for most of the day, produced on deck by the sun.
For guests, none of this comes at the cost of comfort. The interior, the service, the food and the itineraries are those of a luxury charter — the only thing missing is the noise and the exhaust.
Planning your charter
SAMAR Charter departs from Puerto de Palma. Charters are available as full-day or multi-day itineraries, and the team confirms availability within 24 hours of a booking request. If you'd like to design a specific route around Cabrera, Dragonera or the east-coast coves, note it in your request and we'll build the day around it. You can check live availability and request your charter dates from the booking calendar.
Electric llaüt (llaut / laúd), eco yacht and sustainable charter in Mallorca and the Balearic Islands
Guests arrive with different words for the same day at sea. Some want to rent an electric boat in Mallorca; others search for an electric yacht charter, or specifically for an electric llaüt, because they know the island's traditional boat and want its silent version. Just as often the request is for an eco yacht or a sustainable boat — families and groups who simply don't want to spend a day breathing diesel. All of it describes the same vessel: the SAMAR 50, a 15.9 m llaüt with 100% electric propulsion and solar recharging on deck.
The island's traditional boat is spelled in several ways, and they all mean the same thing: llaüt, llaut without the diaeresis, or the Spanish forms laúd and laud. So whether you are looking to rent an electric llaut in Mallorca or to charter a solar laúd, the boat is the same: the SAMAR 50, a 15.9 m luxury electric llaüt departing from the Port of Palma with a professional skipper and up to 12 guests on board.
Palma is the home port, but the cruising range covers the whole archipelago. In Mallorca we sail the south and south-east coast and the Cabrera National Park; with advance planning we build passages towards Ibiza and Formentera, where Posidonia meadows make silent anchoring more than an aesthetic preference, and up to the northern coves of Menorca. An electric charter in the Balearics is not a reduced version of a conventional one: the same coast, without the noise, the vibration or the fuel wake.
